The Norangsdalen Valley

The Norangsdalen Valley is also known as the "hidden valley" and the “wildest valley in Norway”. Take a ride on the road cutting through the narrow gorge measuring only 200 metres across. Stop by the lake in its midst for a view of the underwater ruins and road. The lake was formed in 1908 when a huge landslide dammed the Norang river, flooding the original settlement. You can still see the foundations of the one-time farmhouses beneath the surface of the lake.

The Sæbø-Leknes ferry connects the Norangsdalen Valley with Hellesylt.
