Photo: Per EideThe Storfjorden
The Storfjorden in Sogn og Fjordane county is the fifth largest fjord in Norway. It stretches for 110 kilometres and entails 10 communes before splitting in two at Stranda.
The arm to the north becomes the Norddalsfjorden, whereas the southern bound one becomes the famous Geiranger fjord. The landscape along the fjord mixes between very steep shores and gentle valleys. There are plenty abandoned farms en route, many of which have already been renovated. The 679 metres deep fjord offers ample opportunities for boating, fishing and remarkable sightseeing.
