Things to do and see in Bergen

Bergen is part culture, part history and part nature. Whatever part suits you, Bergen has a lot to offer. For cultural experiences visit the theatre, the cinema, the many art galleries or numerous festivals in the city centre. For lessons in history, see the Bryggen area and some of the excellent museums. Combine culture and history at the Troldhaugen, home of composer Edvard Grieg. For encounters with nature, head out into the wild and beautiful scenery surrounding the city on all sides.

Bryggen is a must see attraction for all visitors to Bergen. Featured on UNESCO's World Heritage List, the characteristic wood houses reflect Bergen's part of the Hanseatic League’s trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century.
